Scott De Young

President

Scott joined Municipal Well and Pump in 2002. Most recently, Scott worked for the Barnabas Foundation in Orland Park, IL as the Director of Finance and Administration. Prior to that he was the Vice President of Finance and Operations for 2 different printing companies in Chicago since 1989. He also worked for 2 years in public accounting. Scott is a Certified Public Accountant.

Tony Mathweg

Service Manager

Tony joined our team at PSP in 2012 as the Service Manager. He has spent the last 20 years traveling extensively throughout the United States as well as working on dozens of international projects. Over that period of time, he has worked on hundreds of different installations including industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants, soil/ groundwater remediation systems, catalytic and thermal oxidizers for VOC emission control, concrete batch plants, fly ash conditioning systems for goal fired power plants along with a couple other custom processing facilities. Tony’s vast experience in working on all different types of electrical controls, VFD’s and mechancial systems is invaluable as he assists all our clients with their controls and pumping systems.

Jared Oosterhouse

CFO

Jared joined Municipal Well and Pump in 2024 as Chief Financial Officer with over 15 years of experience in finance and operations.  In his role, Jared leads MWP through his belief in accountability, integrity, financial stability, and transparency.  Prior to joining MWP, Jared was a Director of Finance for two different national commercial general contractors and for a municipal electric, water, and sewer utility.  He started his career in public accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.  Jared holds a BS in Accounting and Management from Marian University.

Chris Ferguson

Project Manager- Sales Manager

Chris started at Municipal Well and Pump in March of 2021. Prior to joining the team at MWP, Chris worked at Midwest Contract Operations out of Menasha, WI for 4.5 years. He also worked with MSA Professional Services as an Environmental Technician for a little over a year. Chris graduated from UW Stevens Point in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Soil and Waste Resource Management. Chris is a Certified Water and Wastewater Operator in WI with a strong background in troubleshooting equipment. He is also 40-hour HAZWOPER certified.

Derek Granquist

Controls Engineer

Derek joined Municipal Well & Pump in May 2023 with over 20 years of experience in industrial automation and controls. Before MWP, he worked in the oil and gas industry as a Systems Integrator, specializing in SCADA programming, HMI development, radio communications, instrumentation, and electrical systems. He studied Electrical Engineering at Valparaiso University. At MWP, Derek supports a wide range of control projects—from designing and programming PLC systems to troubleshooting field equipment and improving operational efficiency. He also assists Pump Station Professionals with system implementation and integration. Derek brings a strong technical eye, hands-on expertise, and a solutions-driven approach to every project.

J.P. Thompson

Electrical Control Engineer

John Paul (J.P.) Thompson is an Electrical Control Engineer at Municipal Well & Pump, bringing over 20 years of technical and leadership experience from his distinguished U.S. Coast Guard career. He retired in July 2025 as an Engineer and Weapons Officer at Sector Lake Michigan, overseeing engineering operations and personnel across the region. Prior to that, he served as Main Propulsion Assistant aboard USCGC Hamilton after promoting to Warrant Officer in 2022. J.P. has held multiple key engineering roles, including Chief Electrician’s Mate at BASE Honolulu, Engineering Petty Officer aboard USCGC AHI, and instructor for the Fast Response Cutter MTU “C” Schools. He holds a degree from Thomas Edison State University and is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Academy. Now at MWP, he applies his broad electrical, propulsion, and control systems expertise to support infrastructure and control projects. J.P. lives in Wisconsin with his wife, Kelly, and their four chihuahuas.

Andy Stelsel

Operations Manager

Andy started at Municipal Well and Pump in 2003 as an assistant in the field. He later became an operator and ran a crew. Andy is a Certified Water Operator in WI and operated many systems for Muncipal Well and Pump from 2012 – 2020. Andy has an associate degree in marketing. In 2021, Andy took on the role of Operations Manager.

Brian Brodersen

Senior Project Engineer

Brian joined Municipal Well and Pump in December 2016 after nearly 23 years at Layne Christensen Company as a Design Engineer and Project Manager. He has extensive professional experience in the water industry that includes well rehabilitation, well construction, pump design, installation and repair. Brian has Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin and also holds a Wisconsin Pump Installer license and is Wisconsin Small System Operator license.

Dick Milaeger

Board of Directors

Dick is a third generation well contractor with extensive field knowledge in well drilling and pump service. He has been a Sales Engineer for Municipal Well & Pump since 1992 with expertise in well drilling, rehabilitation, pump engineering, water treatment and water systems design. Dick was also the Owner & President of Milaeger Well & Pump from 1983 to 1992 and was Director of Sales from 1976 to 1983. Dick is a Graduate of University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering.

Marty Van Ells

Board of Directors

Marty began working for Municipal Well and Pump in 1986 as an Operator. In 1996, he was promoted to Field Operations Manager. Then in 1998, Marty decided to take a Plant Manager position with AJS & Associates in Random Lake, Wisconsin. In February, 2003, after 5 years, Marty decided to return to MWP for a Sales / Project Manager position. Marty has extensive experience with Well rehabilitations, vertical turbine pumps, submersible pumps and horizontal pumps. Marty has a degree in Business Administration from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, WI.
